Maama Monitor ("we", "us", "our") provides medical monitoring devices, a companion mobile app, and this website. This policy explains what data we collect across those products, why we collect it, and how you can control it. It applies to visitors of this website, users of the Maama Monitor Android app, and customers who order devices from us directly.

1. Data we collect

• Contact and order details: name, email address, phone number, and delivery location, collected when you order a device or message us on WhatsApp.
• Account information: your name and email address when you sign in to the app using Google Sign-In (Firebase Authentication).
• Health vitals: readings you take with a Maama Monitor device or enter manually in the app, including blood pressure, heart rate, blood glucose, body temperature, and blood oxygen (SpO2).
• Device information: the serial number and identifiers of the monitor you pair with the app over Bluetooth.
• Location data: approximate or precise location, used to map nearby devices, hospitals, and emergency contacts, and to arrange delivery.
• Next of kin / care circle details: if you choose to share your readings with a spouse, family member, or healthcare provider, we store the contact details you provide for that purpose.

2. App permissions, and why we ask for them

The Maama Monitor Android app requests the following permissions. We only use each one for the purpose described:

• Location - to show nearby devices, hospitals, and emergency contacts on the map, and to route deliveries.
• Bluetooth - to discover, pair with, and read readings from your Maama Monitor device.
• Health Connect (blood pressure and heart rate) - to save the vitals you record into Android's Health Connect store, and to read existing entries so your history stays consistent across health apps you use.
• Notifications and exact alarms - to remind you to take a measurement or medication at the times you set.

3. Third-party services we use

• Firebase Authentication / Google Sign-In - to let you sign in securely without us storing a password.
• Google Maps - to display device, hospital, and delivery locations.
• AI health insights - readings may be analysed to generate plain-language health insights; if the AI service is unavailable, we fall back to rule-based analysis we control directly. AI insights are informational and never a substitute for medical advice.
• Our own backend - your account, device, and vitals data is stored on servers we operate to power the app's dashboard, analytics, and reminders.

4. How we share your data

We do not sell your personal or health data. We share vitals and readings only with the people and organisations you explicitly connect your account to - for example a spouse, next of kin, or a healthcare provider - so they can help monitor your health. We may share data with emergency services or a health centre when a reading indicates a medical emergency, consistent with the alert feature you opt into.

5. Data retention and your choices

We keep your account and vitals data for as long as your account is active, so your health history remains useful to you and your care circle. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing maamamonitor1@gmail.com. We will confirm once the deletion is complete.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and authenticated access, to protect your data in transit and at rest. No system is completely secure, and we continually review our practices as the product grows.

7. Children's privacy

Maama Monitor is intended for use by adults managing their own health or the health of a family member in their care. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or on this website.
